I love “This Modern World” — I’ve been a fan since my college days. Unfortunately, our country has gotten so surreal that Tom Tomorrow’s cartoons are barely satire anymore.
That’s certainly true, Ahab! I think it’s also the case that Tom Tomorrow is one tough guy to dupe — I can’t recall the last time he was very wrong about anything.
Sadly, the Republicans know that (a) they will do better if the economy and everything else continues to sour while Obama is president; and (b) that spending two years of saying nothing but NO! caused them to gain electorally. There’s simply no way they’re going to cooperate on anything of consequence.
I agree, Dale. Now that the Republicans have had some electoral success with NO!, they will not drop it until they have the Senate and White House, too.
